摘要：An elastomeric surge arrester housing includes a sleeve having a tubular coreand radiating sheds. The sleeve is molded in a first configuration and, when the core isradially stretched, assumes a second configuration in which the sheds assume a
downwardly extending configuration. The sheds, in the second configuration, include anupper surface having a generally frustoconical shape. The housing may be made usingconventional molding techniques, but requires substantially less material than if thehousing were molded directly into the desired second configuration.
