摘要：The present invention makes it possible to distribute digital content managedunder copyright to a large number of users through a communications network whileensuring copyright protection. The web server distributes images requested by the user
through the Internet to the user PC . The image data distributed from the web server isencrypted and can only be decrypted by the special image editor on the user PC .Control data indicating the usage restrictions according to copyright are included in theimage data distributed from the web server . The image editor controls the editoperations and print specifications that can be used with the images downloaded fromthe web server according to that control data. The image editor carries out imageprinting only in the case where a settlement process for image fees is completed.
