Birdwatching is becoming more and more popular in many parts of the world.
Birdwatchers enjoy looking for and listening to different kinds of birds. To watch birds, all you need is a pair of binoculars, a field guide and love for birds.
If you are just starting birdwatching, buy one of the cheaper pairs of binoculars. You can choose better ones when your needs and skills grow. A field guide helps you learn about the birds' appearances, calls and habits before birdwatching.
When you are ready, it's best to go to the wild with someone who is more experienced. You can join a birdwatching group to learn about some beginning skills. A local bird club is ideal. Start birdwatching in the morning, when birds are searching for food. Most of the time, you will hear bird calls from all around you, but will not see any birds easily. Look for movement in trees, and bring your binoculars to your eyes.

Whales are the biggest animals in the sea. They are much bigger than elephants -- the largest animals on land. The largest whales are more than 30 meters long.
Whales live in water, but they are not fish. Like people, they have warm blood. They breathe air through a hole in the top of their head. They often stay under water for ten to forty-five minutes without breathing (不呼吸), or even longer.
There are two kinds of whales. One kind has a big mouth with teeth. Its mouth measures four meters in depth(深度). It can eat other larger animals of the sea. This kind is called a killer whale.
The other kind of whale is much larger than the killer whale. It has no teeth. Instead, it has rows of bones in its mouth. Small sea life is caught in these bones. These whales also have a very small throat(咽喉). They cannot swallow anything larger than an apple.
