Jianbing is one of China’s most popular street breakfasts. It has a longer history than almost any other Chinese street food. It originated in Shandong Province during the Three Kingdoms Period (220–280 AD). Almost every neighborhood across China has its own jianbing vendors (商贩) serving breakfast from dawn to noon, satisfying hungry people on their way to work. But until recently, you might have found jianbing
outside of China. A number of westerners have been interested in jianbing. They want to bring this street snack home to America and Britain.
John Shorser, founder of “Jianbing Johnny”, and Neal Grandy, co-founder of the Jianbing Company, both found Jianbing when they studied Chinese in Beijing. After returning to New York, they started their own jianbing business. “Jianbing is so new to New Yorkers that the need for it has exceeded (超出) our expectations,” John said. The company sells several hundred jianbing every day.
To make sure jianbing in New York tastes the same as that in China, John and Neal invited Chinese jianbing makers to train the company’s workers in New York. In China, the snack can be sold for less than a dollar a set. In New York, it can go for as much as $15.
American customers (顾客) think highly of the Chinese traditional snack, and share pictures of it on the Internet.

Last year, I left my job and went to Borneo to work without pay in the rainforest. So many people have said to me, “I would love to do something like that,” and I say, “If you want to, just do it.’ They always reply, “I can’t.’ But, if you really want to do it, there are ways to make it happen.
After three days’ training, I started to work on an environmental project with a group of young people. The accommodation (住宿) was very basic and we had to build our own place to sleep. This included a simple bed, a cloth roof and a net to keep insects out.
It was never dangerous there, but it was very challenging. There were things that we didn’t think we would manage to do, but we did. I had some of my worst moments there, but also some of my best-it made me feel alive. I didn’t miss my home comforts as much as I had thought I might. We had food, water, somewhere to stay, about three sets of clothes and really good conversation. We were in the most beautiful place and we had things to keep us busy. We didn’t need any more.
One of the teenagers said: ‘Before we came here, it was really important to me what clothes I wore and who my friends were. I was always thinking about shoes, but really none of that matters. Here, people accept me for who I am, what I believe and think, not for what kind of clothes I’ve got.’ When she said that, it summed it up for me. 56. What is the writer trying to do in the passage? A. To give the reader information about Borneo. B. To advise people not to work in the Borneo rainforest. C. To describe how she felt when she was in Borneo. D. To explain what kind of work she did in Borneo. 57. What does the writer tell other people?
A. Everyone must do the same as her. B. Few people can do the same as her. C. Nobody should do the same as her. D. Anybody can do the same as her. 58. What does the writer say about her stay in the rainforest? A. She had enough of everything that she needed. B. She enjoyed having a comfortable room there. C. She really missed some things from her home. D. She knew she could deal with every problem. 59. How did the writer feel about living in the rainforest?

Many people say dolphins are very intelligent. They seem to be able to think, understand, and learn things quickly. But are they smart like humans or more than cats or dogs? 61 But scientists say dolphin intelligence and human intelligence are similar in some ways. How?
62 The name is a special whistle. Each dolphin chooses a special whistle for itself, usually by its first birthday. Dolphins are like people in other ways, too. 63 For example, their age, their feelings, or finding food. And, like humans, dolphins use a system of sounds and body language to communicate. But understanding their conversations is not easy for humans. No one speaks “dolphin” yet, but some scientists are trying to learn.
64 They live in groups, and they often join others from different groups to play games and have fun—just like people. In fact, playing together is something only intelligent animals do. Dolphins and humans are similar in another way. 65 In the seas of southern Brazil, for example, dolphins use an interesting strategy (策略) to get food. When fish are near a boat, dolphins show signs to the fishermen to put their nets in the water. Using this method, the men can catch a lot of fish. What is the advantage for the dolphins in doing so? They get to eat some of the fish.
A. They “talk” to each other about a lot of things.
