摘要：A method and apparatus for providing personalization parameters to allow anoperating system to install itself on a computer system with the provided
personalization parameters. A first operating system parameter file (64) is used by theoperating system to configure itself. A personalization parameter file is provided andread by an operating system installation process (68) which is initiated in the computersystem. The operating system installation process then displays a graphical userinterface (49) from which a user selects personalization parameters with which theoperating system is to configure itself. An editing module is executed to edit theoperating system configuration file to include at least a portion of the selectedpersonalization parameters so that the operating system is configured with thepersonalization parameters when it installs itself.
