摘要：A member which comprises a substrate and, formed on the surface of thesubstrate, an intermediate layer comprising a material having a photocatalyst

functionality other than titanium oxide and, joined onto the surface of the intermediatelayer, a surface layer comprising titanium oxide having photocatalyst functionality,wherein the material having photocatalyst functionality other than titanium oxide has apotential of the lower end of a conduction band which is positively higher than 0 V interms of the potential to a standard hydrogen electrode at pH 7 and a potential of theupper end of a valence band which is positively higher than +2.7 V in terms of thepotential to a standard hydrogen electrode at pH 7; and a method for producing themember. The member exhibits excellent hydrophilicity being sufficient to have anti-fogging and anti-staining properties, even with a reduced amount of a photocatalyst orby weak light.
