Statistics suggest that nowadays an increasing number of crimes are committed by the young people, what are its cause and how can we solve this problem?
Recently, newspapers or TV news show an increasing number of juvenile crimes. Personally, the causes of this phenomenon are difficult to analyze.
First of all, it is partly attributed to lack of moral education. Because teenagers do not know how to distinguish right from wrong and how to protect themselves; they are easily tempted to break laws. With the increasing of divorce rate, more and more teenagers live in single-parent or step families. Their particular needs may be ignored and therefore feel hurt or isolated. In this condition they are easier to take some negative influences from bad friends and commit crimes.
Another reason is related to media influence. Teenagers are so immature that they are likely to imitate the inappropriate behavior they see, such as sex and violence. Accordingly, they have great influence on the value system and behaviors of young people. Unable to distinguish between reality and fiction, some teenagers who view shows like violence are prone to imitate what they see.
Finally, schools are also responsible for the increasing number of juvenile crimes. Most schools put emphasize on subjects but consider little about moral or law courses. It leads to the lack of law awareness among students. They do not even realize some illegal actions are against laws.
It is not easy to solve the problem immediately, which involves cooperation of the whole society. The divorced couples should do their best to create a warm family for their children. The government must take strict measures to control the media violence. As for school, it is important to pay more attention to the moral education. We hope juvenile delinquents will disappear under all the efforts.
