Dear Awesome Amazon Rainforest,

Hi! My name is Jamie and I'm 10 years old. I live in a small town in the United States but I've learned all about you in school. You seem like the coolest, most amazing place ever! I really really want to come visit you someday.

First of all, I think it's so neat how you're the biggest rainforest in the whole world. You cover 9 different countries in South America – can you imagine being that huge?? My backyard feels big to me and it's only half an acre! The numbers they taught us about you in class blew my mind. Like, you have over 390 billion trees and make up over half of the planet's remaining rainforests. Wild!

I also think it's amazing how old you are. You've been around for at least 55 million years, maybe even 100 million years! That's literally forever ago. The dinosaurs used to roam around in you. Can you picture woolly mammoths and saber-toothed tigers living there? I have a hard time imagining

things that happened last week, let alone millions of years in the past. You must have seen everything!

What I'm most excited about though are all the animals that call you home. We learned you have 40,000 different plant species, 3,000 different freshwater fish species, and over 2 million different insect species! That's more types of living things than anywhere else on Earth. I want to see them all!

I've seen pictures of your bright blue poison dart frogs and they look so crazy cool. Do you know if they're actually

poisonous or if that's just a myth? I definitely don't want to touch them just in case, but I'd love to spot some hopping around from a safe distance. Same with your anaconda snakes – those things are ginormous! I couldn't believe the size when I saw them on the projector screen. Do people actually get eaten by them or is that just a scary story?

Your birds seem extraordinary too. I read about your toucans with their huge bizarre beaks and funky colors. What's the point of beaks that massive? Do they use them to crack open specific fruits or something? I'd love to see a real toucan chillin' in the trees. Oh and your macaws! Those bright red, blue and yellow parrots look like the prettiest birds ever. I'll bring my binoculars so I can try to spot some high up in the canopy.

I also can't wait to maybe see some cool bugs, like the monstrous ameiva lizards or your menacing bird-eating spiders (hopefully not too close!). And a sloth would be my dream animal sighting – they seem like such funny, chill little dudes just hanging out and taking naps all day. What's life like being a sloth? That's the life for me!

Aside from the animals though, your whole environment just seems like a whole other world that I need to experience. I've never seen anything as dense and green as your jungle scenery. With your towering trees, twisting vines, bright flowers, and endless shades of green, it looks like another planet to me. I can't even comprehend how crazy humid and hot it must feel in there too. I've only experienced that for a few minutes here when my dad's car broke down and we had to pull over on the highway until the tow truck came. I can't imagine living in that sultriness all day!

They also told us how you have over 1,100 different indigenous tribes living inside you, carrying on the same traditions as their ancestors from hundreds of years back before outside explorers ever stepped foot in you. That's so fascinating to me. I'd love to meet some of those tribes and hear their stories about what it's really like living deep in the heart of the rainforest.

Do they have legendary tales of mythical rainforest creatures? What's their daily routine like out there in the middle of nowhere? So many questions!

Anyway, I could go on and on about all the things I find interesting about you. You're honestly just a real life alien world to me and I have a million questions I want to ask. But I'll wrap this up now! I hope more than anything that I get the chance to visit you for real someday and not just through pictures and videos. You seem like a trulymagical, one-of-a-kind place and I can't wait to experience your wonder myself! Your pal, Jamie

Dear Awesome Australia,

Hi there! My name is Tommy and I'm 10 years old. I live in a small town in the United States called Greenfield. I've learned all about you in school and from watching TV shows and movies, and you seem like the coolest, most amazing place ever! I'm writing to tell you why I really, really, REALLY want to come visit you someday.

First of all, your weather looks perfect. Here in Greenfield, we have winter, spring, summer, and fall. The winters are freezing cold with tons of snow. I have to wear a huge puffy coat, boots, hat, and gloves just to play outside. And in the summer it gets SO hot and humid. Australia doesn't seem to have that problem! From what I've learned, you have warm or hot weather pretty much all year round. That sounds like heaven to me! I could wear t-shirts, shorts, and flip-flops every single day. No more shivering or sweating, just nice sunny days. What could be better? Another reason I'm dying to visit you is all the crazy cool animals you have there. We just have regular animals like dogs, cats, squirrels, and birds in Greenfield. But you've got kangaroos hopping around everywhere! I've seen them in pictures and on TV and they look so funny and cute. I really want to try feeding one. You've also got koalas clinging to trees munching on leaves. They're pretty much the cutest, most huggable animals ever. I have a million stuffed koala toys but seeing a real one would be a dream come true. And let's not forget about the wombats, platypuses, Tasmanian devils, and dingoes! All those goofy, unique creatures just roaming around your country? It's like a zoo everywhere you look! Speaking of zoos, I bet the ones you have Down Under are insane. Ours just have basic animals like

zebras, lions, and elephants. Yours probably have some mind-blowing, freaky animals I can't even imagine.

The other huge thing that has me begging my parents to take me to Australia is the incredible beaches you have on literally every side of your country. We do have some nice beaches here, but they're no match for yours. Your beaches have the whitest, most pristine sand and the bluest, most crystal-clear water. And the waves look so perfect for surfing and boogie boarding! That's something I've always dreamed of trying. I could spend every single day swimming, snorkeling, building sandcastles, and working on my tan. Our beaches just can't compare to your gorgeous tropical ones.

I've also heard you have the craziest, most adventurous activities like scuba diving at the Great Barrier Reef, climbing the Sydney Harbour Bridge, riding in a hot air balloon over the Outback, and even swimming with whale sharks! Those all sound like such a rush and so much fun. There's definitely nothing that extreme around here. The most adventurous thing we have is maybe going to an amusement park or something. You seem to have way more opportunities for a kid like me to have mind-blowing, death-defying experiences!

Finally, your diverse landscapes of rainforests, deserts, mountain ranges, and more just seem out of this world. We mainly just have fields, forests, and suburbs here which are nice, but kind of boring compared to your country. I would love to trek through a real rainforest and see all the exotic plants and animals. And I've always wanted to check out a vast desert and see how silent and peaceful and beautiful it can be. I've seen pictures of the Australian Outback and it looks like another planet! Who knows what kinds of adventures you could have in a place like that? Maybe I could even visit the famous Uluru (I worked really hard on pronouncing that one right) and learn about your Aboriginal cultures. You probably have ancient ruins and artifacts that are like 40,000 years old just lying around for me to explore!

So, those are all the reasons why you need to let me come visit you, awesome Australia. You're pretty much an exotic paradise filled with beaches, crazy wildlife, extreme adventures, and stunning landscapes. Meanwhile, little old Greenfield is just kind of...meh. Don't get me wrong, I love my town, but you seem like the place where I could have an unforgettable journey and experience so many new mind-blowing sights and thrills! I promise I'll be a respectful visitor. I'll put on sunscreen, be careful

around dangerous animals, and take good care of your beautiful natural wonders.

Pretty please let me come explore you, Australia? I'm saving up all my allowance money for a plane ticket! Maybe I'll win the lottery and be able to afford the trip someday. A kid can dream, right? I'll keep watching my Steve Irwin reruns and studying up on you until that glorious day comes. Thanks for being so awesome! Your friend, Tommy

Dear Hawaiian Islands,

Hi! My name is Timmy and I'm 10 years old. I live in a small town in Ohio and I've never been to Hawaii before. But I've seen so many pictures and videos, and it looks like the most amazing place ever! My teacher asked us to write a letter to somewhere we dream of going, so I chose to write to you.

Hawaii just seems like a total paradise. The beaches look so beautiful, with the bright blue water and the white sandy shores. I'd love to learn how to surf and boogie board in those awesome

waves. And you have so many cool sea animals like dolphins, whales, and sea turtles! Maybe I could go snorkeling or scuba diving and see them up close. That would be the best.

The scenery in Hawaii is just breathtaking from what I've seen. All those lush green mountains, volcanoes, and waterfalls look like they came straight out of a storybook. I'd have a blast hiking, rock climbing, and exploring all the incredible landscapes. Everything is so vibrant and colorful compared to the boring flatlands here.

I'm really into learning about different cultures too. Hawaii has such a unique mix of Polynesian, American, and other influences that make it special. I'd love to attend a luau, try amazing Hawaiian foods like poi and kalua pork, and learn some Hawaiian words and dances. The music and hula dancing look awesome as well. Getting immersed in the aloha spirit and laid-back island way of life would be a nice change of pace. Of course, I'd also want to do all the fun tourist activities while I'm there! Going to a volcanic national park and walking through lava tubes sounds amazing. I've gotta get one of those goofy Hawaiian shirts too. Touring around historic sites like Pearl Harbor would be really interesting and educational. And I can't

forget to attend a rodeo or get churro from a food truck! There's just so much to see and do.

Mostly though, I think Hawaii would be an amazing place to have adventures and make incredible memories. Us Ohio kids don't get many opportunities for tropical vacations. It would be the ultimate kid's paradise! Building sandcastles, riding waves, exploring jungles, camping under the stars - sign me up! I bet you I wouldn't want to leave.

I'm going to keep working hard in school and being a good boy so that someday my family can save up to take a trip to your beautiful islands. Maybe if you and I become pen pals, you can tell me all the coolest things to do and see when I make it out there. I promise to take good care of your land and follow all the rules about preserving nature too. Hawaii seems like a very special place.

Thanks for reading my letter! I'll start a Hawaii fund and keep my fingers crossed that I can meet you in person soon. Aloha! Your Friend, Timmy

Dear Magical Forest,

Hi there! My name is Lily and I'm 8 years old. I go to Oakwood Elementary School. I love reading fantasy books and my favorite is definitely The Chronicles of Narnia. When I read about the magical lands like Narnia, it makes me wish I could visit an enchanted forest just like that! That's why I'm writing this letter to you.

I have so many questions about what it's like living in a place filled with talking animals, mythical creatures, and endless adventures around every corner. I bet you have the most amazing trees! In my imagination, your trees have trunks twisted into crazy shapes, with low hanging branches that are just perfect for climbing. The leaves must be so colorful, like emeralds and rubies sparkling in the sunshine.

I'm picturing walking along your winding paths, breathing in the fresh piney air. Every few steps, I would probably stop to examine a tiny wildflower peeking out from between the roots of a wise old oak tree. Maybe I would even spot a family of rabbits munching on clover or a curious fox venturing out from his den! The birds must sing the most beautiful songs as they flit from tree to tree.

At nighttime, I imagine your forest is even more magical. There would be glowing mushrooms to light the way, and hundreds of flickering fireflies dancing in the velvety darkness. The moon would shine down through the canopy of branches, casting long, spooky shadows that play tricks on your eyes. Who knows what mystical beings lurk in the shadowy undergrowth when the world is sleeping?

I'll bet unicorns stop at your streams to take a long, refreshing drink. Maybe their magnificent horns have healing powers, and the water gets imbued with magic! Just scooping up a handful could bestow extraordinary abilities like supersight, mind-reading, or speaking in animal languages. A girl can dream, right?

If I could visit, I would love to stumble across a circle of toadstools where fairy folk hold their parties and dances. Can you imagine how lovely their music must sound - like the tinkling of silver bells or the sweet, pure notes of a baby's laughter? I would sit very still and be as quiet as a mouse, trying not to disturb their merriment as they twirl and leap in their exquisite gowns and suits. Perhaps one of the friendly fairies would even take pity on me and invite me to join in!

Your forest must be positively bursting with adventure! I can picture myself scaling up an immense tree trunk to a hidden door carved into the bark. It would open to reveal a whole new realm inside - maybe a miniature village inhabited by wise old wizards and heroic knights. Or maybe it's a cozy home for a family of forest gnomes who could use my help with chores and mischief. Anything could exist behind that mysterious door! I wish I could pack a bag and run away to your forest right now. I would bring bread crumbs to leave a trail, lots of snacks for me and any friends I met along the way, my stuffed dragon for protection, and a warm blanket for chilly nights under the stars. We could explore every nook and cranny together, having a grand adventure and making incredible discoveries around each twist and turn of the path.

Alas, I'm just a regular kid living in the city for now. But I'll never stop dreaming about and believing in the magic of places like your forest! I have a million more questions about what it's like. Do the animals band together to drive off wicked witches and mean trolls? Have any kids ever wished themselves into your world before? What's the most awe-inspiring thing a visitor has witnessed?

Well, I'd better stop here so you can get back to enjoying the beauty and enchantment of your forest home. Maybe someday our paths will cross, if I'm lucky! Until then, please keep shining your light and sharing your magic with anyone lucky enough to step through the trees. Thanks for giving me a wondrous place to visit in my daydreams. Your friend, Lily

Dear Awesome Amusement Park,

Hi there! My name is Jamie and I'm 10 years old. I've been dreaming about visiting you for ages and ages. All my friends have gone and they won't stop talking about how cool you are. I've seen pictures and you look like the most fun place ever! I'm writing to tell you why I really really want to come see you soon. First off, your roller coasters look insane! The Cyclone coaster with all those loopy loops seems crazy. I can picture myself screaming at the top of my lungs while hanging upside down. That's gonna be so scary but so awesome at the same time! And the Thunderbolt coaster that goes super fast looks intense. I'll probably feel like I'm in a rocket ship blasting off into

space. I can't wait to put my hands up and feel the wind whooshing through my hair. Wheee!

My favorite rides are definitely the super fast ones and the really high up ones too. My friends told me about the Slingshot that flings you way up in the sky. I'll get to see the whole park from way up there! That's gonna be such a rush. I also can't wait to try the spinning UFO ride that spins you around and around. I'll be able to pretend I'm in a spaceship cruising around in circles. Maybe I'll even get to steer the ship!

The water park section looks amazing too. I'll be able to splash and play in the wave pool all day. It'll be like having a giant pool of ocean waves right there! And those huge twisting water slides look epic. I can imagine zipping down at super speeds and getting totally drenched. That'll be the best way to cool off on a hot summer day. Don't worry, I'm a great swimmer so I can handle anything!

But what really has me excited are the shows and parades you have. The stunt shows with motorbikes and car crashes sound unreal. I'll get to see crazy daredevils doing flips and jumps right in front of me! How cool is that? And I heard the parade has awesome floats and dancers. It'll be like the Macy's Thanksgiving Day parade but even crazier. I can't wait to see all

the colorful costumes and decorations go by. I'm going to cheer and wave to all the performers!

I've been looking at maps of the park and it's just ginormous. You've got rides and games and shows spread out everywhere. I'll get to run around and explore all the different themed areas and do something new around every corner. Maybe I'll pretend I'm in the old west in one area and then a few minutes later I'll be in outer space! It's going to feel like going on a crazy fun adventure all day long.

Don't even get me started on all the awesome games and prizes. I've been practicing my throwing arm so I can win ALL the stuffed animals. My room is gonna be overflowing with teddy bears and rubber duckies after my visit! And I've been studying tricks so I can win at every game. Those carnival people won't know what hit them when I show up. I'm bringing home all the giant lollipops and inflatable hammers!

The best part is, I'll get to do all of this with my friends and family. We're all going to have a total blast together. We'll make so many incredible memories going on all the rides, watching the shows, eating ALL the sugary snacks, and just being total goofballs all day long. I can't think of anything better than that!

So that's why I reeeeally want to come visit you Awesome Amusement Park. You're living in my daydreams every single day. I'm counting down the days until my big trip! I'll do anything to make it happen. I've triple checked with my parents, I'm helping out a ton around the house, and I've been working super hard on my multiplication tables at school. I'm ready for the time of my life!

Thanks a million for being so fun and amazing. I'll see you super super soon! Your buddy, Jamie
