English Roast Chicken Recipe
Roast chicken is a classic British dish that is loved for its simplicity and delicious flavors. Here is a simple recipe for making English roast chicken that you can try at home.
Ingredients: 1 whole chicken Salt and pepper Olive oil
Herbs (such as rosemary, thyme, and sage) 1 lemon
2 cloves of garlic 1 onion 2 carrots 2 potatoes Instructions:
1. Preheat your oven to 200°C (392°F).
2. Rinse the chicken inside and out under cold water and pat it dry with paper towels.
3. Season the chicken generously with salt and pepper, both inside and out.
4. Rub the chicken with olive oil and sprinkle herbs all over the skin.
5. Cut the lemon in half and place it inside the chicken along with the garlic cloves and a few sprigs of herbs.
6. Peel and chop the onion, carrots, and potatoes into large chunks and place them in a roasting pan.
7. Drizzle the vegetables with olive oil and season with salt and pepper.
8. Place the chicken on top of the vegetables in the roasting pan.
9. Roast the chicken in the preheated oven for about 1.5 to 2 hours, or until the skin is golden brown and crispy, and the internal temperature reaches 75°C (167°F).
10. Remove the chicken from the oven and let it rest for 1015 minutes before carving.
